Employment Support

Employers and employees both have workplace rights and responsibilities. Employers are obligated by law to provide a safe and healthy work environment. Understanding what your rights and entitlements are and what is expected of you is the first stage of any employment relationship. Apprentices and trainees are considered employees and are normally contracted to an employer for a nominal period of time, enabling them to successfully gain competence in their chosen trade as an apprentice, or vocational area as a trainee. As such they are entitled to receive entitlements the same as other employees such as: annual leave, sick leave, public holidays, superannuation, workers compensation and allowances.
